Another interesting fact that I recently learned is that the deepest point in the ocean, the Mariana Trench, is deeper than Mount Everest is tall. It is so deep that the pressure at the bottom is over 1,000 times greater than that at sea level, making it an incredibly hostile environment for any living organism.
If you're a fan of historical trivia, you might be interested to know that in ancient Rome, it was considered fashionable for wealthy women to dye their hair with goat urine. The ammonia in the urine served as a natural bleach, giving their hair a golden and shiny appearance. Finally, one of the most mind-boggling pieces of information I've come across is the fact that there are more possible iterations of a game of chess than there are atoms in the observable universe. This means that if you were to play chess for the rest of your life, you could never possibly exhaust all the possible games that could be played. It's a testament to the complexity and depth of this ancient game, and just goes to show that there is always more to learn and discover in the world of cold knowledge.
